Centennial set of twelve American Federal chairs.For reference, please see Wallace Nuttings' Furniture Treasury item number 2395, which is described as Central Reeded Banister Chairs. Fan shaped at the top, and crossed by a festoon (swag). Fluted legs with stretchers. Centennial set. Copy of a period circa 1795 set hand made around 1875 to 1885. The Antique Federal arm chairs measure 18 inches wide inside the arms. The backs measure 18 and three quarter inches high from the seats, and the seats are 18 inches deep. They measure 26 and one quarter inches high to the arm tops, 20 and one half inches deep at the bases, 19 and one half inches high to the seats, and 35 and three quarter inches high overall. The side chairs measure 21 and one half inches wide at the fronts, 20 and one half inches deep at the bases, 18 inches deep at the seats, and 18 and three quarter inches high from the seats. Eleanor Roosevelt Autograph letter from Valkill Cottage Hyde Park,Dutchess County New York and drawing. This autographed letter from "Eleanor Roosevelt" was written July 25, 1952 and was sold by the B Altman Company Autograph department in New York in 1982. Eleanor Roosevelt, was the U.S Representative to the United Nations at the time this sketch was done by Fred Bennett while a student at the University of Bridgeport when Mrs Roosevelt gave an address to University of Bridgeport students. The frame measures 11 and one half inches by 16 and one half inches.
